Tucked in the heart of downtown Laurel, the Heirloom Cooking School is getting ready to open its doors—and it’s bringing with it a whole lot more than just recipes. It’s bringing stories, traditions, and the kind of hospitality that’s been passed down through generations, one well-loved dish at a time.

This isn’t your typical culinary class. No fancy certificates will be given at the end of the class, no experience necessary. Just plain fun, for everyone.

Each week, local chefs and others from all over will come to our little corner of Mississippi to share their culinary roots and personal traditions. From Southern comfort food to rustic Italian family fare, every class is an invitation to experience something real, something made with love (and probably lots of butter). And this isn’t just for seasoned home cooks. Whether you barely know your way around a biscuit cutter or you’ve got a signature gumbo, our classes are designed to make everyone feel welcome and capable—and to leave with something delicious to show for it.
